Another trip to the doctor. Turns out, you really are the best judge of what’s up with your body. My thyroid levels went back to almost-as-bad as they started out with, to the confusion and consternation of my doctor.
I get to make another trip back for many vials of blood drawn on Halloween.
The irony is not lost on me. I’m tempted to dress up as a vampire.
I almost forgot the fun! When the last major typhoon went through here, it was bad. Like, very frightening to be through, since it hit us straight on. Stupid amounts of rain, dangerous levels of flooding, all that stuff.
Turns out, it knocked out a chunk of our railway.
Between Saiki, where I live, and Beppu, where my doctor is.
So I had to take a bus from Saiki to Usuki, over an hour. Now, one thing I didn’t realize until recently: my thyroid crap makes me really prone to motion sickness. Not as bad on a train, but cars are dodgy (I’m still so sorry, Yellie!), and busses are just a no go.
So that was the worst hour+ of my recent life.
Fall has officially started here, the ginko are turning gold and their stinky (yet delicious) fruits are falling. It’s finally not 100% humidity all the time.
The weather is beautiful. My little port city is beautiful, too. Just look at those clouds!
I’m hoping to get back to sewing again. Since lowering the dosage almost a month ago, I’ve gone from a creative power house to ‘meh.’ It’s amazing how much an affect hormones like the thyroid hurt your mood. It’s been rough, because I had two weeks of feeling amazing for the first time in years. Then back to the bleh of everything. Except for the killing my liver part, it was amazing.
I got six, six compliments on my orange obi purse that I carry with me everywhere. Even one on the train. If you know how Japanese trains work (almost everyone is eerily silent and keeps to themselves) you’ll know that’s weird.
So I must be doing something right!
And on another front, the husband and I spammed out Lui~Lu to friends and I now have over 100 followers, some not even people I know!! Might not seem like a lot, but to me, it really is. I’m not getting my hopes up too far, but I am still hoping, ya know?
And I decided to do a raffle for something big. I don’t have enough obi bags for that (maybe Xmas?) but I do have a lot of purses, so I’m raffling off one to someone who “likes” the post on Facebook.
Update: We have a winner! Thank you Rena!
Here’s hoping, and good luck!
Also, Bean, as she’s been kind of named, is settling in really well. Better than I had expected, at least, even if she is a tiny terror.
Argh, the motion sickness sounds horrific! I hope the railway is fixed before you have to get more blood taken – the idea of a vampire with motion sickness is just wrong. Also, thank you for the coffee <3
